Description

BS 8614:2017 specifies additional requirements for water meters with polymer main casingsused to meter the actual volume of clean, cold potable water or heated water flowing through a fullycharged, closed conduit which are not already described in BS EN ISO 4064 (all parts).

It applies to meters where the main casing of the meter, which is subject to the water pressure, ismanufactured from a polymer material and where the strength of the casing to withstand that waterpressure is reliant on the strength of the polymer. It does not include the use of polymer coatings onthe wetted surfaces of metal main casings, where the coating is not considered structural.
